What You'll Do
As the Product Testing Manager at Enstall, you will oversee testing activities and provide technical leadership and guidance to test engineering staff, provide leadership and oversight in test plan development, data collection and report writing and design and procure custom-designed test equipment and fixtures
- Oversee testing activities and provide technical leadership and guidance to test engineering staff.
- Manage department schedules and resources to support product development strategy and timeline
- Establish a continuous improvement process for the test lab to support Enstall�s current needs and future growth
- Lead technical documentation development
- Develop mechanical, electrical, environmental and performance test programs, using environmental chambers, tensile testers, load cells, power supplies, and other measuring/data acquisition/testing equipment to best suit the test objectives
- Provide leadership and oversight in test plan development, data collection and report writing
- Design and procure custom-designed test equipment and fixtures
- Offer reliability and certification risk analysis throughout the product development process
- Investigative testing methods to recreate field issues
- Evaluate performance under thermal cyclic testing and fatigue failures
- Support to key stakeholders from product design, manufacturing, quality, product management, and marketing teams.
- Occasional field work, to include installation and testing of PV modules, arrays, and electrical systems
What You'll Bring
- MS in Mechanical Engineering or related
- Minimum 5 years of Product Testing experience in solar or related industries
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a dynamic team environment to think creatively and take on traditional problems in new and better ways
- Excellent project management aptitude
- Experience with UL, ASTM, IEC, NEC, IBC, ASCE and other relevant PV industry codes and standards
- Fluent in 3D CAD software
- Construction and fabrication experience
- Ability to travel as much as 25% of your time
- Experience and knowledge in statistical methods, design of experiments, fire testing, FMEA, DVT, HALE/HALT, large scale structural testing, fatigue testing, cyclic testing, joint and assembly testing, metallurgical analyses, materials characterization, destructive and non-destructive test methods, galvanic corrosion, and other failure modes unique to long term outdoor exposure of metallic and plastic components (preferred)
- Strong knowledge in test equipment programming, automation, and data acquisition (preferred)
- Familiarity with roofing systems design, waterproofing and reliability testing (preferred)
- Wind tunnel testing experience (preferred)
- Expertise in solar electrical grounding/bonding, foundations, and load paths system design (preferred)
- In depth knowledge of residential and commercial solar racking solutions (preferred)

Where You'll Be Located
This position will be based in Hayward, CA.
What We�ll Offer
We offer competitive compensation determined by each individual's relevant experience, skills, education and location. We anticipate the base salary for this position to be between $130,000 and $160,000annually, if located in the San Francisco Bay Area market. In addition to base salary, Enstall Solar Group employees are eligible for either an annual bonus or commission, depending on their position. If your desired salary falls outside of these rates, we hope you'll still apply as there may be other positions that better align.
