The Opportunity…
The Program Manager will be crucial in GRID Alternatives' efforts to promote residential decarbonization and electrification, and support their core solar work. The Program Manager will oversee GRID’s involvement in the California Energy Commission’s Equitable Building Decarbonization (EBD) Program and the Charge Ready Homes (CRH) program, while also managing other funding streams and opportunities that support GRID’s work in the electrification, main service panel (MSP) upgrades, reroofs/roof repairs, and home battery storage spaces. The Program Manager collaborates with regional affiliates, partners, and GRID HQ teams, streamlining project delivery and coordinating program initiatives to provide eligible clients with clean energy home upgrades.

Program Management for EBD:

They oversee GRID's role in the Equitable Building Decarbonization (EBD) Program. They coordinate with external administrators to identify eligible homes for solar PV and storage integration and MSP upgrades. They also manage GRID's involvement on two regional admin teams.

Develop and implement streamlined client journeys that integrate GRID’s offerings with the EBD outreach and intake process.

Collaborate with regional affiliates, local agencies, community-based organizations (CBOs) to support outreach, ensuring clients receive the full range of services available under the EBD program.

Actively participate in coalition meetings, providing relevant input on program implementation, and coordinating efforts between the two regional admin teams.

Work with regional affiliates to deliver coordinated services, encompassing MSP upgrades, roof repairs/reroofs, solar and storage installations, electrification, and EV charger installations.

Manage funding sources and ensure compliance with program guidelines for MSP Upgrades, roof repairs/reroofs, energy storage, electrification, and other clean energy upgrades.

Proactively identify and pursue new funding opportunities and partnerships to support electrification, main service panel upgrades, and roof repairs/reroofs, ensuring continued program expansion and financial sustainability. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure grants, rebates, and other resources that align with GRID’s mission and program goals.

Make sure to track and report key program metrics, including completed home upgrades and received funding, to meet data collection and reporting requirements for funding programs.
What you need to bring to this role...

3-5 years of experience in program management, particularly within the clean energy, solar, nonprofit, or electrification sectors.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies and community-based organizations.

Strong organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to make effective decisions.

Proven experience communicating and coordinating across various departments and teams.

Familiarity with solar and storage technologies, electrification strategies, and grid resiliency.
It would be great if you also had...

Passionate about renewable energy, affordable housing, and/or environment/environmental justice work.

Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software.

Direct experience with residential electrification technologies and programs and/or home retrofit upgrades and programs.

Strong project management skills, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance with program guidelines.

This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary pay commensurate with experience within the pay band ($70k- $85k annually), plus the benefits below.
