JOB SUMMARY: This position is in Region 4, Water Division, Surface Water Protection Branch, Water Quality Standards and Modeling Section. About Region 4. This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis. MAJOR DUTIES: You will: Serve as a technical expert advisor to the Regional Administrator and Water Division Director on matters related to nutrient criteria and standards for surface waters. Conduct and coordinate reviews of proposed and/or adopted water quality standard revisions submitted by States and Tribes. Provide expert level advice and guidance to other program offices regarding content and interpretation of water quality standards. Compile supportive material for and participate in public hearing and litigation activities involving water quality standards.
