Hood Packaging is currently recruiting for a Health, Safety, and Environment Manager in our Calgary Plastics facility.
SCOPE OF POSITION
Responsible for developing, implementing and managing safety, health & environment programs & initiatives; and ensuring effective and efficient compliance with internal and external regulations, policies and agencies.
RESPONSIBILITY
•Develop, implement and maintain policies and programs to ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations.
•Lead and acts as the Co-Chair on the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
•Lead the continuous improvement processes for the the environmental, health and safety programs.
•Lead root cause investigations on all, health, safety and environmental related incidents and coordinate the corrective actions.
•Develop and monitor KPIs to evaluate the overall performance of the environmental, health and safety programs.
•Conduct the COR Audit and coordinate corrective actions.
•Manage the OCS process including implementation, corrective actions and audits.
•Manage the company hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste and recycling programs.
•Manage railcar safety program including audits, inspections and training.
•Coordinate external environmental, health and safety audits and coordinate corrective actions.
•Manage the Site Emergency Plan.
•Understand and comply with the Job Safety Analysis (JSA), SQF & safety policies & procedures.
•Coordinate and participate in site inspections.
•Coordinate and communicate activities with the outside consulting groups when needed.
•Prepare reports as required.
•Coordinate major facility and equipment cleanings.
•Communicate with regulatory agencies.
•Comply with all safety guidelines at all times.
•Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
•College diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and 3-5 years experience, or Occupational Health and Safety Certificate and more than 10 years experience.
