Typical Responsibilities: Coordinate the implementation and administration of departmental processes and/or programs. Ensure that university records are kept in accordance with federal, state and other governing regulations. Monitor, maintain, and provide ongoing analysis of finance or business operations. May act as principal financial or operational coordinator to the department. Reconcile expenditures of budgeted funds. Work collaboratively with university staff to ensure success of assigned area. May assist in the preparation & delivery of workshops and training programs. Interpret departmental policies for area of responsibility. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.
Required Qualifications: This position requires either (a) Master’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization ; (b) Bachelor’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 6 years of direct experience.
Purpose
The position incumbent oversees the campus sustainability office which will act as catalyst for sustainability initiatives across campus; advise campus on the integration of sustainability practices into campus planning, projects, and operations, collaborate with academic programs, student and faculty research, and engage in community outreach; is responsible for fostering a culture of sustainability on campus by identifying, coordinating, and serving as a catalyst for units and individuals who are implementing sustainability programs; and engaging with executive campus leadership, principal officers, faculty, staff and students to foster sustainability broadly across campus units.
Scope
Leads campus sustainability program that has critical impact upon the campus. Significant responsibility for formulating and administering policies and programs, manages human, financial, and physical resources, and functions with a very high degree of autonomy. Provides data and information that influences business decisions made by senior leadership. Coordinates with campus departments to manage the accountability and stewardship of campus resources and the development of systems and procedures to protect organizational assets. Negotiates and influences others to understand and accept new concepts, practices and approaches.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution and 2-5 years’ experience including 2 years managerial experience in sustainable operations, energy auditing or facility management or 4 years of progressive experience in the field of sustainability, facility operations and or other equivalent experience.

Key Responsibilities
75% of Time the position incumbent must:
● Promote a culture of sustainability at UNF. Work to advance strategies for how to care for the campus environment, human communities and advance sustainability initiatives across campus.
● Chair the UNF Sustainability Committee with key administration and finance units and academic units and maintain campus-wide sustainability-focused communication.
● Facilitates and manages the Campus Sustainability Plan and supports the campus to refine, track, and implement goals and benchmarks sustainability Plan
● Facilitates and manages the Campus Sustainability Plan and supports the campus to refine, track, and implement goals and benchmarks sustainability Plan, with a focus on zero waste, procurement, health/wellness, and campus planning activities.
● Provides expertise, strategic guidance and support to operational units and academic divisions
● Identify grant-writing, sponsorships, rebate programs, and other funding opportunities in support of expanded campus sustainability efforts
● Assist students and faculty with campus sustainability initiatives and education through collaboration with the Institute of Environmental Research and Education and Student Government.
● Promote and communicate campus sustainability activities, initiatives, achievements, reporting, and national rankings on and off campus.
● Promote a culture of sustainability. Work to advance strategies for how to care for environmental spaces, human communities and advance sustainability initiatives across campus.
● Integrate sustainability into the classroom. Build bridges between operations, teaching and research to establish UNF as a living, learning laboratory in which students can learn and apply sustainability principles and techniques.
● Supervises and mentor’s sustainability and environmental program support staff.
● Oversees programming budget for materials, training, etc. related to campus sustainability initiatives and education.
20% of Time the position incumbent:
will serve as project manager for campus designated sustainability projects & initiatives; conducts energy audits of campus facilities; hosts, attends or presents at symposia regarding sustainability practices and procedures.
5% of time the position incumbent will perform other duties as assigned work environment and physical demands
