Are you an experienced electrician with a "conduit" attitude? Our team supports the organization onsite with over 1,400 rare and exotic animals and 1,000 varieties of plants on the Northside of Jacksonville spanning over 180 acres. This position will work with our facilities team as the subject matter expert. The Electrician will work in a unique environment surrounded by lush gardens and wildlife. The workday may flex between outdoor or indoor environments to provide preventative, routine, and emergency repairs on all electrical services. You will troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures at one of the locations onsite; restaurants, gift shops, animal habitats, behind-the-scenes, public point-of-sales, and workstations.
Shock our team with two (2) years of experience in the field to provide electrical systems and install temporary power systems for lighting fixtures, power outlets, control devices, heaters, thermostats, and other similar devices. You oversee electrical safety with electrical control systems, service lights, and intercom systems. You are the subject matter expert to comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), or NFPA 70 as well as local codes. You will ensure all areas are safe by replacing fuses and changing lamps in fluorescent, mercury vapor, and incandescent lighting fixtures for service lights, intercom systems, or electrical control systems.

Do you have…
- Two (2) years of experience in the safe installation of electric wiring of residential/ commercial electrical?
- Proficiency with the National Electrical Code (NEC), or NFPA 70 as well as local codes?
- Ability to troubleshoot circuits, contact cabinets, motors, variable frequency drive (VFD), read prints, etc...?
A Plus…
- Experience in apartment, building, or multi-unit maintenance.
- Completion of vocational or apprenticeship program in electrician/ trades; OR Two (2) years of experience under the supervision of a skilled electrician valid electrician’s license.
- Maintain current electrician's license or identification card to meet governmental regulations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to consistently remain on your feet for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to operate motorized carts, trucks, hand and/or power tools.
- Auditory ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, two-way radio, and face-to-face interactions.
- Ability to work outdoors and indoors under all environmental conditions and temperatures.
- Ability to transport without difficulty up to 50 pounds for a short distance.
- Ability to ascend/ descend ladders, steps, and uneven terrain, while maintaining body equilibrium while performing various jobs.
- Ability to access and navigate the organization on foot, including any construction sites.
- Manual dexterity for standing, reaching, flexibility, and body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting, kneeling, crawling, climbing, jumping, digging, and prolonged standing.
- Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Visual and auditory acuity appropriate for safety and discerning differences in documents.
- Exceptional visual acuity is required, along with the ability to communicate, comprehend, and decipher/hear information accurately, using a two-way radio.
