SUMMARY OF POSITION: In charge of prepping food and plating dishes according to the restaurant and chef/ kitchen manager menu specifications. Line cooks and prep cooks are assigned a specific place on the kitchen line and expected to prepare foods to the company’s standards and maintain sanitation standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the preparation station and the kitchen is setup and stocked.
- Prepare simple components of each dish on the menu.
- Report to the executive chef/ kitchen manager and follow their instruction.
- Make sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards.
- Clean prep areas and take care of leftovers such as have them wasted.
- Stock your stations for every shift with proper inventory and supplies.
- Cook menu item with the support of the kitchen staff.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness throughout shift and at the end of every shift.
REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOB:
- Walk/ be on your feet for a long period of time.
- Stand for a long period of time.
- Repeat the same movements.
- Use your hands to handle, control, feel objects and tools.
- Lift between 25 and 50 pounds.
- Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
- See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
- Be physically active for long periods of time without getting tired or out of breath.
- Prior cook experience with Sushi.
