Title: Groundsman / Maintenance Technician
Reports to: Household Manager
Location: Skaneateles, NY (Split between private residence and four family-owned restaurants)
Schedule: Full-time
- Regular Workdays: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
- Rotating Days Off: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with occasional Sunday off
- Summer Schedule: Typically, 6 workdays and 1 day off
- Fall/Winter Schedule: More flexible, with additional days off as needed and requested

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Groundsman / Maintenance Technician to oversee the upkeep and maintenance of a private residence and four family-owned restaurants. This role offers the potential for growth into a Lead Groundsman position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily & Weekly Maintenance:
Ensure completion of daily and weekly maintenance checklists and ensure all areas comply with safety and cleanliness standards.
- Irrigation Systems:
Manage and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of all landscapes.
- Grounds Maintenance:
Remove debris, leaves, moss, mold, insects, and snow to maintain clean and safe outdoor environments across all locations.
- Equipment Operation:
Regularly use and maintain heavy equipment, including power washers, drills, blowers, snowplows, and other tools.
- Facility Maintenance:
Maintain outdoor furniture, lighting, appliances, pools, fountains, hot tubs, and electrical systems at all locations.
- Trash Collection & Removal:
Ensure timely trash collection and removal from all properties.
- Inspections & Repairs:
Conduct routine inspections of all properties to identify maintenance needs, perform basic repairs on plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, and handle basic carpentry tasks such as repairing doors, windows, and furniture.
- Construction & Handyman Tasks:
Perform basic construction work and general handyman tasks such as painting, drilling, and moving items as needed.
- Tool & Equipment Management:
Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working order.
- Contractor Coordination:
Coordinate with contractors for larger repairs, oversee their work, and ensure adherence to family standards.
- Safety Compliance:
Monitor and address safety hazards, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. Conduct regular checks on fire alarms, extinguishers, and other safety equipment.
- Event Support:
Assist with the setup and breakdown of special events at the residence or family restaurants.
- Inventory Management:
Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and request replenishments as needed.
- Additional Duties:
Assist with tasks such as carrying luggage, transporting vehicles for service or detailing, and moving jet skis and boats for seasonal storage.
- Team Leadership:
As the team expands, oversee and manage all maintenance and exterior employees, ensuring effective workload distribution.
