We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Recycling Roll-Off Driver with exceptional customer service skills to join our team. As a Roll-Off Driver, you will safely operate a heavy commercial truck to provide prompt, high service deliveries and removal of large containers. Additionally, the Roll-Off Driver for SPORC is responsible for hauling large loads of scrap metal typically from high volume customers while modeling the SPORC values.
Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate roll-off trucks to pick up and transport recyclable materials from residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its proper functioning and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely collection and delivery of recyclable materials to recycling facilities.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety while operating the vehicle.
- Assist in loading and unloading recyclable materials using roll-off containers, ensuring secure transportation and minimizing spillage or damage.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers to coordinate pickups and resolve any issues during the collection process.
- Maintain accurate records of pick-ups, mileage, and other relevant data using logbooks or electronic recording systems.
- Promote recycling awareness by displaying professionalism and positive customer service during interactions with the public.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on the roll-off truck, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and reporting any mechanical problems.
- Ensure the cleanliness and appearance of the roll-off truck, both inside and outside.
- Tarp, mount and dismount roll off containers using a heavy-duty truck numerous times each day.
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid Class A or B CDL with appropriate endorsements for operating roll-off trucks for at least 5 years.
- Previous experience as a roll-off driver or in a similar driving position, preferably in the waste management or recycling industry.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to operating commercial vehicles and handling recyclable materials.
- Excellent driving record and a commitment to safe driving practices.
- Physical ability to load and unload heavy materials using roll-off containers.
- Ability to work independently and follow established schedules and routes.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and supervisors effectively.
- Flexibility in working hours, as weekend availability is required.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Work Environment
- Operating heavy duty roll off truck on a daily basis.
- Local travel.
- Occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
- Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, and
- Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress.
