Summary: The Tolmas Center Gift Shop Cashier assists customers with the selection and purchasing of merchandise at the gift shop and Tolmas Center. This full-time employee also manages the Tolmas Center and Gift Shop in the absence of the Tolmas Center/Gift Shop Manager, providing support to customers and supervising the service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned- Greet customers and assist them in their selection of merchandise.
- Process transactions using the Square point of sale system.
- Restock shelves with merchandise in the Gift Shop and Tolmas Center.
- Provide general information about the Botanical Garden and City Park to the public.
- Deliver outstanding customer service.
- Sell admission tickets, memberships, season passes, photo permits, and garden gift shop merchandise.
- Ensure the Tolmas Center, Gift Shop, front desk, and entry way are free of trash daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Tolmas Center Manager.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required
- Must be willing to work with others in a team setting
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
