Summary: The Ride Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the rides in safe working order.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned- Ability to recognize and understand ASTM standards as they apply to amusements rides.
- Performs visual inspections of assigned rides and attractions.
- Maintains, erects, repairs, and trouble-shoots various theme park rides and attractions.
- Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate necessary maintenance.
- Removes and/or replaces worn or defective parts using hand and/or power tools.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance on various equipment including rides and attractions.
- Keeps a daily duty log of maintenance work performed and accurate records of preventative maintenance.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Working knowledge of PC software- Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
qualifications and education requirements: - At least 4 years’ experience in the mechanical or electrical field.
- Electrical control experience is necessary to work on amusement rides.
- Experience in pneumatics, valves, gears, electrical circuitry, engines, electrical motors, starters, etc.
- Able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
- Excellent trouble-shooting abilities.
- Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the primary job duties
- Must be able to obtain NAARSO/AIMS Level 1 Mechanical certification upon first available testing.
- Flexible work schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays
PREFERRED - Post-high school training in related field.
- Ability to diagnose and understand programming faults with PLCs
- Trade school certification.
- Welding experience
- Previous experience working in the amusement park industry with NAARSO/AIMS Certification
