DescriptionThe position is a client management role in the Corporate Client Banking & Specialized Industries’ Energy Banking Group. The banker will represent our Utilities & Power Banking Practice. They will be responsible for delivering a broad range of corporate and investment banking solutions to a diverse group of Utilities companies. The role has a heavy emphasis on idea generation and business development. The Utilities team is responsible for the coverage of small and Mid-Cap Utilities & Power companies. The team has a national footprint.
We provide solutions to Utilities firms including: Corporate Finance and Investment Banking products; Treasury Services; Credit; Asset Management and Security Services.
This position requires an experienced, client manager capable of driving business independently. The successful candidate should have a proven ability to develop C-suite relationships, corporate finance expertise and strong transaction execution skills, and strong credit and treasury services product knowledge. Utilities and Power sector experience is mandatory.
Job Responsibilities
- Initiate and maintain strategic dialogue with clients and prospects to generate ongoing corporate finance, treasury services and credit opportunities
- Manage complex, multi-product, client relationships
- Coordinate the client coverage efforts of multiple internal business partners
- Collaborate with credit and loan syndication teams on analysis, structuring, negotiation, documentation and distribution of loan origination
- Strictly comply with all regulatory and J.P. Morgan rules, policies, and procedures
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
- Minimum of 10 years of experience delivering corporate finance, corporate and investment banking products and services to Utilities companies
- Strong knowledge of the Utilities sector
- Proven track record in business development and client management
- Strong corporate finance, analytical, credit and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communications abilities
- Knowledge of corporate finance, credit, treasury services, asset management and other corporate and investment banking products
- Self-motivated, dependable and intelligent
- Candidate must be a top individual contributor, with a strong performance track record
- Completion of a recognized investment banking or credit training program
- Possess (or will obtain within three months of hire) FINRA Series 79 and 63 securities licenses (Series 24 for MD's)
- Regular travel will be required
