Role Summary:
The role is responsible for developing commercial strategies & securing long-term offtake agreements for RGE’s renewable energy projects. This includes driving the marketing efforts, sourcing, and securing of PPA customers and managing relationships with potential energy buyers. The candidate will lead the negotiation, execution, and management of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and offtake contracts, ensuring the financial viability of projects through successful offtake agreements.

Commercial Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement commercial strategies for securing long-term offtake agreements, ensuring projects’ profitability and financial sustainability.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, potential buyers and pricing opportunities for renewable energy consumption.
- Engage with stakeholders, including financiers, to align PPA structures with project financing needs.
Stakeholder & Client Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate buyers and power market related stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for PPA negotiations and management, ensuring open communication and collaboration with all parties.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote its PPA and offtake capabilities.
Marketing, Sourcing, and Securing PPA Customers:
- Lead marketing efforts to promote RGE renewable energy projects and PPAs to potential corporate buyers such as international companies / MNCS with sustainability mandates & green electricity needs
- Identify and source prospective PPA customers, building a robust pipeline of interested parties.
- Develop customized proposals and marketing materials to attract and secure long-term PPA customers.
- Drive business development efforts to expand the customer base and enhance the company’s market presence in the renewable energy sector.
PPA Negotiation & Execution:
- Lead the negotiation and execution of PPAs and other offtake agreements with corporate buyers & industry partners
- Ensure agreement terms are commercially competitive and will optimize projects’ revenue potential
- Collaborate with legal, financial, and technical teams to draft and review contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations and contractual obligations.
Risk Management & Compliance:
- Identify and manage commercial risks associated with PPAs and offtake agreements, including market fluctuations, regulatory changes, and counterparty risks.
- Ensure compliance with local and international energy market regulations and reporting requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
- 8 - 12 years of experience in PPA negotiation, energy offtake transactions, with a focus on renewable energy.
- Expertise in commercial negotiations, contract structuring, stakeholder management, and marketing. Strong understanding of energy markets, regulatory environments, and renewable energy trends.
- Excellent communications, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage complex contracts, work with cross-functional teams, and develop marketing strategies.
- Strategic thinker with strong financial acumen and market insights
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, it is recommended that you should have the following skills and qualifications:
• A degree in the related job field.
• At least 8 years or more working exposure or experience in a similar role.
• Willing to relocate to the job location.
