Corporate and Investment Banking provides corporate customers with a full range of commercial banking products and services, including cash management services, current accounts, time deposits, trade finance, working capital finance, term loans and foreign exchange. Responsibilities
- Directly driving franchise and industry income and contribute to the team’s P&L performance by managing the loan portfolio and account management requirements of ERI clients in Singapore as well as select DBS footprint countries.
- If the candidate has prior team lead experience, there might be an opportunity to lead, mentor and motivate a small team of global industry coverage bankers.In such a situation, the candidate would be directly responsible for the team’s portfolio P&L performance across the following key products\: Loans, Cash, Trade, Treasury and Markets and Investment Banking products (including Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets and Strategic Advisory) and across DBS geographies;
- Grow portfolio earnings and enhance portfolio ROE through cross-sell of Cash, Trade, Treasury & Markets and Investment Banking products and solutions as follows\: Oversee the development and execution of strategic account plans for existing client portfolio with product partners, with at least semi-annual reviews, and a special focus on;
- The Digital agenda\: To acquire new cash management mandates & supply chain mandates, working closely with product partners to ensure proper execution of such mandates;
- The Sustainability agenda\: To capture sustainability advisory, loans and capital markets opportunities working closely with IBG Sustainability Team.
- Identify New-To-Bank client targets and develop/implement acquisition plans
- Work with the Executive Directors and Managing Directors of ERI to originate investment banking and advisory mandates
- Ensure proper management of existing portfolio of customers across products and geographies, especially for large accounts with heavy demands on day-to-day operational handling
- Work with DBS Geographies to grow DBS ERI brand and regional industry wallet revenue by raising awareness of industry developments and its ensuing opportunities and risk, deal flow and deal structures. Jointly target new clients and drive joint account planning for existing portfolio
- Ensure regular client engagement at both the working level as well as C-suite meetings. These should be supported by timely pre-meeting briefing notes with relevant talking points and actionable call reports
- Ensure quality, accuracy and relevance of pitches to clients by product partners
- Lead/assist with the monthly preparation of Mid-Month Reviews to Senior Management detailing P&L and risk profile of the portfolio, ensuring accuracy of data and quality of analysis to drive direction of portfolio.
- Proactive monitoring and management of accounts, being alert to credit deterioration or improvement, and taking timely action including elevation to senior management and Credit.
- Oversee the preparation of credit memos ensuring accuracy, timeliness and supported by sufficient depth of analysis and synthesized insights and coherent recommendations.
- Ensure timely and accurate credit reviews of the whole portfolio;
- Evaluate financial models with P&L, B/S & cash-flow projections based on sound business and market assumptions with high level of competence.
- Oversee loan & security documentation and negotiation with high degree of competence
- Cultivate a strong people culture, with DBS values and building a highly-motivated team.
- Develop and monitor clear KPIs, with clear development goals for each direct report
- Drive talent development and internal mobility including overseas assignment.
- Craft action plan to address areas revealed by DBS’ employee engagement scores and ensure timely follow-up of such actions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 12-15 years' relevant experience. Previous working experience in Energy, Renewables & Infrastructure industry will be a pre-requisite.
- Good knowledge of various corporate and investment banking products including trade finance/structured trade finance products especially in driving regional business and connectivity across different geographies
- Good understanding of credit risks and ability to independently conduct discussions with credit / risk management teams would be preferrable
- Confidence in pitching ideas at the level of the CFOs and Treasurers
- Highly resourceful individual who should also be a team player
