Role SummaryAs the Lead Technical Assistant in the Procurement department of Rivian, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the VP of Procurement in overseeing technical aspects, process optimization, and ensuring seamless operations, both within the Procurement division, and as the division interfaces with other functional areas and Supply Partners. This role requires a combination of commercial acumen, technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate across various departments.
Responsibilities- Meeting Preparation: Providing resources to prepare leadership for upcoming meetings.
- Technical Support: Provide direct technical support to the VP of Procurement in analyzing and resolving complex commercial and technical issues related to automotive manufacturing processes.
- Project Management: Assist in coordinating and managing projects related to the facility, equipment implementation, and operational organization.
- Communication: Support internal and external communications, such as speeches, emails, supplier communications and press releases.
- Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Facilities, Manufacturing, Finance, and Production.
- Budgeting: Supporting the budget process for the organization.
- Issue Mitigation: Working behind the scenes to mediate disputes, finding solutions to problems and dealing with issues, before they are brought to leadership.
- Strategic Initiatives: Teaming up with executives to chalk out and prioritize strategic initiatives.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 4+ years of experience in automotive procurement or a related industry or environment.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience with automotive manufacturing systems, automation, and quality management systems is highly desirable.

Willingness to travel and visit manufacturing & supplier facilities.
Pay DisclosureSalary Range for California Based Applicants: $125,000 - 165,560 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
