Responsibilities
- Develop build-time tools for code generation of embedded firmware code as well as real-time analysis tools
- Create and maintain build system integrations for building embedded firmware code in Bazel
- Develop middleware components to abstract application software for Rivian controls boards from inception to deployment
- Work closely with other development and cross-functional team members such as Charging, Body Controls, Infotainment, and Vehicle Dynamics to ensure the platform is meeting application requirements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software/firmware development, preferably with vertically integrated consumer products
- B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Expert in both embedded C and Python programming skills
- Deep familiarity of software development for automotive communication networks (CAN, LIN, and/or Ethernet)
- Experience with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
- Embedded software development and optimization expertise
- Understanding of multi-threaded and multi-core programming
- Experience with build tools such as Bazel, SCons, or CMake
- Proficient with software development on microcontrollers
- Familiarity with AUTOSAR concepts is preferred
- Good team player with great communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment
- Passionately motivated to take ideas from R&D phase to a product
