We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to support our North American team. You will work on exciting infrastructure projects in the Offshore Wind market, joining a professional team known for technical expertise, design leadership, project management, and specialized engineering.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Collaborate and work cross-functionally with senior practitioners and project managers in the design and analysis of foundations (e.g. monopile, jacket, gravity-based, etc.) for offshore wind turbines, offshore electrical substations, and port facilities in support of all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, design, construction, operation, and decommissioning by providing geotechnical and foundation expertise
- Analyze geotechnical data from site investigations, drilling programs, and laboratory tests
- Interpret soil parameters and geotechnical characteristics to inform foundation design parameters
- Perform 2-D and 3-D soil-structure interaction, geotechnical, and dynamic analysis using advanced finite element software under various loading conditions
- Prepare design deliverable documents and execute quality control validation of detailed calculations, design drawings, and specifications
- Perform occasional on-site engagement at client offices as dictated by project needs, with an estimated 10% of tasks performed away from the office
- Have frequent in-person and virtual interfaces with the Project Director, Technical Leads, Project Manager, design team, BIM/CADD team, etc.
- Participate in regular client meetings to discuss geotechnical aspects of the project, provide updates, and address any client concerns

On top of that, you will have:
- A M.S. or higher degree in Geotechnical Engineering, focusing on the design of deep foundations
- A Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) or can obtain the same within 12 months of employment
- A min. of 10+ years’ experience working as a geotechnical engineer in offshore wind foundation design and analysis
- Experience and proficiency with finite element software (PLAXIS 2-D and 3-D, SESAM, and ABAQUS), offshore codes (API, DNVGL, ISO, etc.), and programming languages (Python and MATLAB)
- In-depth knowledge of soil plasticity theories and demonstrating a comprehensive grasp of the mechanical behavior of soils under various loading conditions including but not limited to static and cyclic loadings
- Experience in soil-structure interaction and preparing and checking engineering designs and calculations for deep foundations in the marine environment

Base compensation: $94,400 to $133,000 for New York location only. Actual compensation is subject to variations due to education, experience, skill set, and location.
