ABOUT THE ROLE

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Sales Manager to lead and grow the sales function within a fast-growing renewable energy business specialising in solar solutions and product distribution.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing sales strategies, leading business development activities, managing customer relationships and driving revenue growth across South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business growth.
Lead, manage and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and departmental targets.
Identify new business opportunities and expand the company's footprint within the solar and renewable energy market.
Develop and maintain relationships with distributors, installers, EPCs and key commercial clients.
Drive new business development, client visits, negotiations and contract closures.
Build and manage a sustainable sales pipeline and monitor sales performance.
Prepare sales forecasts, proposals, presentations and performance reports.
Analyse market trends, competitor activity and emerging business opportunities.
Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions and networking platforms.
Collaborate with technical, marketing and operations teams to ensure excellent customer service and effective project delivery.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum 5 years' experience in sales, business development or account management.
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Previous sales leadership or team management experience.
Experience in solar energy, renewable energy technology or electrical distribution will be highly advantageous.
Strong commercial awareness and business development capabilities.
Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
Fluent in English and Afrikaans, both written and spoken.
Confident, outgoing and comfortable with face-to-face client engagement.
Strong organisational, analytical and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently and drive results.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly.

ADVANTAGEOUS EXPERIENCE

An established network within the solar and renewable energy sector.
Experience managing distributor networks and B2B sales channels.
A degree or qualification in Business, Engineering, Marketing or a related field.
Experience developing sales strategies within a growing or fast-paced business.
