Job Purpose

Context of the Need
John Cockerill Hydrogen (JCH2) has Global footprints and to support its International and domestic operations we are looking for a Quality Control Manager (QC Manager) to be based in Mumbai (India) office. The QC Manager will lead and manage all the function of QC department for Hydrogen projects and manufacturing units.
Key Result Areas
- Establish, strengthen and Lead Quality control department of John Cockerill Hydrogen - India office.
- Perform leadership role in developing systems and process for quality control department to engineer, manufacture, supply and install green hydrogen production units as per local and international QC norms.
- Work in tandem with JCH2 Quality control head based at its Belgium head quarters.
- Mentor and train QC team in India.
- Function as a key stakeholder for developing and maintaining a vibrant and productive working environment while leading a diverse team of talented professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Quality control manager will be responsible for:
- Lead and Supervises the Quality Control functions/activities of a manufacturing, Project, or its components, including Quality Control inspection schedules and the collection of Quality Records.
- Assesses the implementation of the Quality Plan and Quality Control Plans on the product manufacturing and project execution.
- Supports the site team in dealing with the Client for all the Quality matters.
- Lead and establish processes to collect and approve product/project quality documentation and validate regulatory and contractual files.
- Write or validate Project Quality documents.
- Participate in product risk analyses and define inspection points.
- Demonstrate the overall quality of the product/project to customers and provide quality support during customer reviews or Proposals.
- Participate in and monitor customer audits and supplier audits.
- Carry out or manage reception activities (inspection, reception tests).
- Validate first part recipes and manufacturing monitoring.
- Write and ensure the proper application of the product/project inspection and test plan.
- Manage deviations relating to equipment and components by assessing their quality impact and ensuring follow-up with suppliers.
- Be actively involved in the implementation of the product/project quality improvement plan and in recording knowledge related to quality.
- Perform all other leadership activities relevant to QC department.
Education and Experience
- Graduate Engineers (Mechanical/Production preferred) form reputed university. Post-graduation will be an added advantage.
- 15 to 20 years’ experience as QC Manager in Medium/Large EPC/heavy engineering industry with an exposure to Multinational environment.
- 5-10 years of working experience with the PED 2014/68/EU and/or ASME BPVC codes.
- Must have significant experience in a project quality function in the industry (Oil & Gas, EPC, defense, or inspection bodies).
Background, Skills, and Competencies
- At present you are performing a leadership role in managing QC function of any equipment manufacturing or EPC company.
- Experience in developing and reviewing project quality plans, contract documents and project specifications.
- Autonomous and rigorous profile, able to work from a blank page, management of priorities and stress, flexible, able to take initiative and work in a team.
- Available for short-term temporary assignments abroad
- Results oriented, structured, schedule oriented, priority management, synthetic, rigorous.
- Comfortable with international contacts and relationships
- Guarantees safety/environment/quality/cost/deadlines expectations
- Capable of working in a fast-evolving environment
- Coordinate Test Pack preparation and Final Handover documentation activities to ensure smooth handover.
- Conduct and organize QMS Internal/External audit and ensure close out of all Inspection and Audit Nonconformities.
- You are fluent in English; Knowledge of French is an added advantage.
- You master the office suite, especially Excel.
- Exposure to green Hydrogen production technologies is an added advantage.
