Introduction

SENIOR LEAD SOLAR INSTALLATION FOREMAN - PRETORIA

R40 000 -R60 000CTC

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong experience in both Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and high-end residential solar installations, who can take ownership of projects from site preparation and installation through to commissioning and final handover.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage multiple installation teams on site
• Take responsibility for complete solar installations, including PV, hybrid inverters, BESS and backup generators
• Read and work from single-line diagrams, structural plans and electrical schematics
• Conduct pre-installation site assessments and assist with site planning
• Manage daily site activities, materials, tools and resources
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on time and to a high standard
• Provide guidance and training to junior team members
• Oversee inverter and battery configuration and commissioning
• Assist with fault finding and system optimisation using monitoring platforms
• Ensure electrical installations comply with the relevant SANS requirements and are suitable for CoC certification

Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements
• Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience as a solar foreman or site manager
• Proven experience in both C&I and residential solar installations
• Fluent Afrikaans and English – Afrikaans is essential for site and client communication
• A Department of Labour registered 3-Phase Wireman's Licence (Installation Electrician or Master Installation Electrician) will be a major advantage
• Experience with solar design, configuration and monitoring platforms such as PVsyst, Helioscope, Deye Cloud, Victron VRM or similar
• Strong knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and SANS 10142-1-2
• Good understanding of AC/DC cable sizing, voltage drop calculations and PV string configurations
• Valid South African Code B or EB driver's licence

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, confident and decisive, with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
You should be comfortable working under pressure, managing teams and communicating with commercial clients, residential customers and internal management.

Attention to detail is essential, particularly when it comes to electrical safety, quality of workmanship and the final finish of each installation.
