For their internal needs and as part of the company's continued expansion, we are looking to hire an HSE Specialist to lead site safety strategies, manage contractor compliance, and ensure the highest standards of environmental and operational protection during construction and energization.
Primary Responsibilities of the Role:
- Oversee contractor health and safety mobilization and verify safety plans before work begins.
- Coordinate safety protocols with Transmission and Distribution System Operator teams during grid connection.
- Conduct site inductions and deliver engaging, risk-focused safety briefing sessions.
- Review and approve Risk Assessments and Method Statements, ensuring practical application of site controls.
- Manage Permit-to-Work systems for high-risk activities such as lifting, working at height, and electrical isolation.
- Perform regular site inspections and track corrective actions to closure.
- Foster a proactive safety culture to encourage reporting of near-miss incidents.
- Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and manage regulatory reporting.
Desired skills and experience:
- Degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on safety experience in construction (Wind or Renewables experience is a plus).
- Recognized Health and Safety qualification (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or local equivalent).
- Knowledge of electrical safety (Lockout-Tagout) and high-risk work management.
- Confidence to stop unsafe work and communicate effectively with site teams.
- Fluency in English and Bulgarian is a must.
- Willingness to travel to Northern Bulgaria weekly (2-3 days per week).
- Valid Category B driving license.
