Job Title: Commercial Solar Sales Executive
Location: Durban
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Commercial Solar Sales Executive to grow our commercial PV, battery storage, and backup power portfolio. This role is suited to a self-motivated, results-driven individual with strong technical understanding of solar PV systems and proven B2B sales experience. The successful candidate will operate independently, manage their own pipeline, and drive projects from lead generation through to close and handover.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven sales experience (minimum 3–5 years) in: Solar PV, renewable energy, electrical solutions or related technical industries.
- Strong technical understanding of solar PV systems, including: grid-tied & hybrid systems and battery storage & back-up solutions.
- Experience in commercial / B2B sales (essential).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within KZN.
- Computer literacy (email, spreadsheets, proposals, CRM or similar systems).
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify, develop, and close sales opportunities in the commercial, agricultural, industrial, and institutional sectors.
- Promote and sell commercial PV systems, battery storage solutions, and backup power systems.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through networking, referrals, site visits, and lead follow-up.
- Conduct client needs analyses and propose suitable technical solutions in collaboration with the technical team.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and return-on-investment (ROI) discussions.
- Develop long-term relationships with clients, consultants, property owners, and decision-makers.
- Act as the key point of contact from initial engagement through project confirmation.
- Ensure accurate handover to operations and maintain post-sale client engagement where required.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and sales activities.
- Follow internal sales processes and reporting requirements.
- Work closely with engineering, procurement, and installation teams to ensure feasible and deliverable solutions.
