Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise civil construction activities for 33/66/132/220/400 kV substations and associated infrastructure.
Execute substation civil works including:
Control room and relay room
Equipment foundations
Transformer/reactor foundations
Switchyard foundations
Cable trenches
Roads and drainage
Boundary walls and fencing
Equipment platforms
Oil pits and fire-fighting structures
Yard development and grading
Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and construction methodologies.
Coordinate with engineering, electrical, QA/QC, HSE, planning, and commissioning teams.
Manage civil contractors and subcontractors and monitor manpower and resources.
Ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedule.
Monitor daily and weekly progress and identify delays with appropriate recovery actions.
Conduct inspections and coordinate with QA/QC for quality control and testing.
Ensure proper material planning and timely availability of construction materials.
Prepare progress reports, quantity measurements, and contractor bills.
Coordinate with consultants, clients, and project management teams for inspections and approvals.
Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and statutory regulations.
Support project planning, quantity estimation, and cost control.
Resolve site engineering and construction-related issues.
Ensure timely completion and handover of civil works to the electrical and commissioning teams.
