Job Description: Environmental Engineer (EPC Project – Uzbekistan)
Position Overview
The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and project-specific environmental management plans during the execution of EPC projects in Uzbekistan. This role involves close coordination with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to integrate environmental considerations into all phases of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Environmental compliance: Ensure adherence to Uzbekistan’s environmental laws, international standards (IFC, ISO 14001), and project-specific environmental permits.
- Impact assessments: Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and prepare mitigation plans for construction activities.
- Monitoring programs: Develop and implement monitoring systems for air, water, soil, and noise pollution during project execution.
- Waste management: Design and oversee waste management strategies, including hazardous waste handling and disposal.
- Sustainability initiatives: Support energy efficiency, resource conservation, and sustainable construction practices.
- Stakeholder engagement: Liaise with government agencies, local communities, and international consultants to ensure transparent communication on environmental matters.
- Reporting: Prepare periodic environmental compliance reports and audits for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree inEnvironmental Engineeringor related discipline.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in environmental management withinEPC or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of Uzbekistan’s environmental regulations and international standards.
- Experience withEIA, EMP (Environmental Management Plans), and ISO 14001 systems.
- Proficiency in environmental monitoring tools and reporting software.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Russian or Uzbek is an advantage.
Location
- Project site: Uzbekistan (with possible travel across project regions).
