Role Description:
We
are looking to hire an experienced stockbroker to advise clients on investment
opportunities within the carbon market. The carbonbroker’s responsibilities
include analyzing the market, finding profitable mandates & opportunities,
and advising clients in making sound investment decisions. You should have the
ability to work well in a high-pressure environment.
To
be a successful carbon broker, you should be able to make quick decisions that
will benefit your clients. A top-performing carbon broker should be able to
utilize the best methods to continually source new clients and maintain good
working relationships with them.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Providing accurate
investment advice to clients.
- Accurately evaluating
financial reports.
- Managing clients’
investment portfolios.
- Staying abreast with the
latest financial news.
- Providing regular updates
to clients regarding the status of their investment portfolios.
- Informing clients of new
investment opportunities within the carbon market.
- Sourcing new clients
through networking and cold calling.
- Accordingly making changes
in investment strategies based on market conditions.
- Understand the carbon
offset needs and provide tailored solutions in collaboration withsustainability experts.
- Ability to generate leads
from clients with Net Zero targets
- Develop and measure
business performance, process and client satisfaction (CSAT)
- Ability to lead from the
initial stage to establish the business
- Build a network of referral
partners, industrial associations, government agencies for business development
- Strong interest in
sustainability and environmental market mechanisms.
- Deep knowledge and
expertise in environmental markets, especially in voluntary carbon markets.
- Knowledge of nature-based
solutions and a proven understanding of market functionality and price
implications from supply and demand.
- Knowledge of RECs, I-RECs
and a proven understanding of the RE market functionality and price implications
from supply and demand. Ability to identify and facilitate the registration of
RECs and I-RECs.
- Ability to do field visits
within India and internationally as part of market Due-Diligence – to ascertain
the quality and mechanisms in the existing eco-systems for NBS, RE and other
carbon credit types.
- Experience in carbon
emissions reduction verification methodologies and standards.
- Open to travel
- Experience working with
the agile team and ecosystem towards creating a continuous commercial pipeline for
the organisation.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in
finance, accounting, business or related field.
- Should have sound
knowledge of how financial markets operate.
- Proficient in IT and mathematics.
- The ability to evaluate
complex information.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent negotiation
skills.
- The ability to work under
pressure.
- The ability to work long
hours due to differing time zones.
