Introduction

A SHE Officer (Safety, Health and Environment Officer) at is responsible for ensuring that Corruseal Corrugated operates in a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible manner. The main purpose of the role is to protect employees, contractors, visitors, company assets, and the environment while ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

SAFETY

Near misses (per month across plant)
Corrective Actions Closed on Time - Percentage of action items closed within deadline.
Safety Induction Training Completion Rate - Employee participation in mandatory training.
Ordering and issuing of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Workplace Inspection Compliance. Completion of scheduled inspections.
Emergency Drill Performance. Evaluation scores of drills.

HEALTH

Employees Medical Health Surveillance Participation.
Completing required health screenings.
Occupational Hygiene Monitoring.
Completion of noise, dust, chemical exposure assessments on schedule

ENVIRONMENT

Environmental spills kid register and replacement.
Completion of internal environmental inspections/audits.

COMPLIANCE & SHEQ SYSTEM

Internal or external audit scores and timeous corrective actions.
SHE File Compliance. Accuracy and completeness of site files.
Risk Assessment reviews, updates and communication.
SHE incident investigation coordination and administration (including R22).
Weekly Toolbox Talk communications and administration.
Legal compliance training schedule and implementation
Legal Register Updates. Keeping legislation and registers updated.

Desired Experience & Qualification

National Diploma (NQF 6) - Safety management, Environmental management or similar qualifications with SHEQ Moden certificate or SAMTRAC.
One (1) year SHE management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
Preference will be giving to can making knowledge and can testing
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.

ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Internal Auditing would be an added advantage
Manufacturing and Packaging experience would be an added advantage
