Our client is seeking an Outage Mechanical Supervisor for a shutdown for a nuclear plant. Previous nuclear power plant experience is non-negotiable.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, supervision, and expert guidance during Mechanical Inspection and Overhaul activities
The role is responsible for supporting maintenance scope execution, complex troubleshooting, engineering evaluations, operability determinations, operational decision-making, and temporary modifications throughout the planning, execution, and post-closeout phases of outage and maintenance activities. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, nuclear safety standards, industrial safety practices, environmental requirements, and operational performance objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical maintenance, inspection, testing, and outage activities.
- Lead and manage teams of mechanical technicians and craft personnel to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules.
- Ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Monitor work execution and provide technical guidance and support to site personnel.
- Support outage planning, execution, and reporting activities.
- Liaise with client representatives, project management, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify and resolve technical issues while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work is performed in accordance with site procedures and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Technical Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Mechanical maintenance inspection, troubleshooting, and repair activities (nuclear power plant non-negotiable).
- Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems (feedwater, cooling water, reactor coolant), rotating equipment, AOV/MOV valves, pumps, and associated plant equipment within a nuclear environment.
