We're looking for an experienced Relief Operator Maintainer (Electrical) to join our Operations team, providing relief coverage across our remote power generation sites throughout Western Australia.
Working a 2-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off FIFO roster, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of our power stations while supporting site mobilisations, maintenance activities, and operational improvements.
About the Role
Reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Manager, you will travel between multiple sites to provide operational and maintenance support for electrical power-generation assets. You'll work independently and collaboratively with site teams to maintain high levels of plant reliability, safety, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
As the Relief Operator Maintainer, you will:
- Operate and maintain remote power generation equipment and associated auxiliary systems.
- Perform routine, preventative and breakdown maintenance.
- Conduct electrical fault finding, diagnosis and troubleshooting.
- Support new site mobilisations and operational readiness activities.
- Complete control system testing and equipment inspections.
- Carry out light improvement projects and plant modifications.
- Analyse equipment performance and recommend continuous improvements.
- Prepare maintenance reports and operational documentation.
- Maintain accurate records, including timesheets, stocktakes and parts ordering.
- Maintain housekeeping standards across power station facilities.
- Participate in after-hours callouts while on site.
- Support safe work practices and ensure compliance with company HSE requirements.
- Assist with mechanical maintenance activities where required.
- Backfill Electrical Field Service when required.
About You
To be successful, you'll bring:
Essential
- WA Electrical Licence
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Minimum 2 years' post-trade experience
- Experience in heavy industrial environments
- Strong fault finding and troubleshooting capability
- Experience rebuilding and diagnosing engines
- Ability to work independently in remote locations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Office
- Commitment to safety and quality outcomes
Highly Regarded
- Remote power station experience
- Stationary engine power generation experience
- Gas engine and gas systems experience
- Fuel system and reciprocating engine maintenance
- Experience with CMMS systems such as Pronto
- High Risk Work Licences (Forklift, Working at Heights, Confined Space, Dogging, Rigging, Overhead Crane)
- Advanced First Aid and LV Rescue qualifications
