Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapist to deliver specialized, high-level rehabilitative care to patients with conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity.
Serving a diverse patient population across the lifespan (pediatrics through geriatrics), you will lead comprehensive evaluations, design customized treatment plans, and fabricate custom orthotics. Your primary objective will be to restore optimal function, significantly reduce pain, prevent long-term disability, and promote maximum independence in daily living.
Key Responsibilities

Specialized Upper Extremity Care: Evaluate, diagnose, and treat complex acute, chronic, or post-surgical conditions affecting the hand, wrist, and upper extremity.

Custom Orthotic Fabrication: Design, fabricate, and fit custom static and dynamic orthotics/splints tailored to individual patient pathology and anatomical needs.

Evidence-Based Intervention: Implement advanced therapeutic techniques, manual therapies, and functional retraining activities to optimize patient outcomes.

Patient Advocacy & Education: Empower patients and families through targeted education on joint protection, home exercise programs, and post-operative protocols.

Continuity of Care: Manage the full patient lifecycle, from initial clinical intake and goal-setting through progressive rehabilitation and comprehensive discharge planning.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience:

Required: Graduate of an Occupational Therapy program from an accredited school with a degree in Occupational Therapy (DOT, MOT, or MSOT).

Experience: Previous experience in hand/upper extremity therapy is preferred, but passionate New Graduates looking to specialize in hand therapy are highly encouraged to apply!
Licensure & Certifications:

Required: Must possess and maintain a current, unrestricted Occupational Therapist license in the State of Illinois.

Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.

Preferred: Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential by the HTCC. (Possessing or actively pursuing this credential places you at the top of our range).
