Summary
This position is located in Gateway Arch National Park, in the Visitor and Resource Protection Division.
Major Duties
Performs emergency and non-emergency dispatch and call taking services for public safety incidents and operations in a regional communications center serving multiple National Parks. Monitors and tracks equipment and personnel such as law enforcement, structural fire, wildland fire, vessels, and search and rescue using a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) program. Operates a multi-frequency radio console and prioritizes radio traffic and related communications. Utilizes National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and other law enforcement databases and records management systems. Performs records management, general public assistance, assistance to other park offices and partners, and projects as assigned in the support of the Visitor and Resource Protection Division. *At the GS-07 grade level, incumbent may be required to obtain an Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certification. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. Promotion to the full performance level is neither guaranteed nor implied and will be based solely on your ability to satisfactorily perform the work of the position, existing work at the higher grade level, and recommendation by the position's supervisor.
