Graphic Design Intern

Are you a creative design student who wants to build a strong portfolio while contributing to the global renewable energy transition? At Solarplaza, we’re looking for a Graphic Design Intern to help bring our international events, campaigns, and brand visuals to life.

You’ll create visual content for global B2B summits, digital campaigns, social media, presentations, editorial layouts, and event materials while working closely with our Design, Marketing and Events Team.

At Solarplaza, we organize high-quality international B2B summits where industry leaders come together to exchange knowledge and build partnerships in renewable energy. We are a small team of 40+ people from 15+ countries, working from our headquarters in Rotterdam. About the Role

Are you excited about design and curious to see how creative visuals support international events and marketing campaigns? As our Graphic Design Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience creating designs for global solar events, digital campaigns, social media, editorial content, and branded event materials. You’ll work closely with our Design and Marketing team, learning how to create clear, consistent, and engaging visuals for an international audience.

As a Graphic Design Intern, you’ll support our design and marketing team by creating visual content for international solar events, campaigns, and brand communications. Your role and mission:

Create event branding assets for international solar conferences, including event logos, save-the-date visuals and other campaign visuals.
Design marketing visuals for LinkedIn, email campaigns, social media, and other digital marketing channels.
Develop print materials for events, such as rollups, lanyards, signage, WIFI cards, and other branded materials.
Support editorial layouts for white papers, reports, presentations, and other long-form content.
Work within Solarplaza’s design system to ensure consistency across campaigns, events, and communications.
Maintain and improve Canva templates used by the wider team.
Collaborate with the Design, Marketing, and Events teams to deliver creative assets on time.

What We’re Looking For in You

You are currently enrolled in a university or HBO program in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Communication Design, or a similar creative field, and you will remain enrolled throughout the internship.

You are available from August to December 2026 for at least 5 months, working 32–40 hours per week. You live in or near Rotterdam and can come to the office at least 3 days per week.

You bring:

Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, which is essential and used regularly in this role.
Good working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator.
A good understanding of typography, layout, visual storytelling, and brand consistency.
Experience or interest in creating visual content for digital, print, editorial, or social media channels.
A creative, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset.
A good command of English (spoken and written).
A valid visa or authorization to work in the Netherlands (if applicable).
