As a Mechanical Engineer at GustoMSC, you will play a key role in enabling the installation of the current and next generation of offshore wind turbines. You will contribute to the design and realization of advanced mechanical equipment packages for heavy lift cranes, jacking systems, and other mission-critical offshore equipment within the NOV portfolio.
Reporting to the Team Lead Mechanical Discipline and/or the Project Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for concept and basic design activities, detailed mechanical calculations, and the technical execution of equipment packages from design through fabrication, installation, and commissioning. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining our market-leading position in offshore innovation.

Key Responsibilities
- Design & Engineering – Develop and verify advanced and complex mechanical equipment in compliance with applicable class, industry, and internal standards.
- Mechanical Calculations & Analysis – Perform analytical calculations and detailed designs (e.g., drive trains, gears, gearboxes, shafts, slewing bearings).
- Package Engineering – Take technical responsibility for mechanical equipment packages (e.g., pinions, winches, slewing bearings), from concept design and supplier evaluation to manufacturing supervision, installation, and commissioning support.
- Technical Advisory Role – Contribute to large engineering scopes within projects, prepare technical specifications, and support client and classification society discussions.
- Project Deliverables – Contribute to, review, and approve engineering deliverables.
- Standardization & Continuous Improvement – Support the development and maintenance of internal work methods and engineering standards.
- Site & Vendor Support – Travel to fabricators, vendors, and construction sites when required.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications
- BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Maritime Technology, Offshore & Dredging Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field – ensures strong technical foundation.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical equipment design – demonstrates ability to operate independently in complex engineering environments.
- Proven experience in performing analytical mechanical calculations and designing components such as gears, drive trains, shafts, and gearboxes.
- Strong understanding of offshore industry standards and classification requirements.
- Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in offshore or heavy lifting equipment projects – beneficial for faster integration into the team.
- Experience with NX or equivalent 3D design software – adds value in detailed engineering and visualization.
- Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams within international environments.
