You are an Environmental Specialist who brings a wealth of expertise to enhance Ledcor's Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) Management Compliance with the Technical Services Group. In this role, you are recognized for your leadership in environmental protection and management. As an Environmental Specialist, you will offer flexible support to this operating group with a specialization in Soil Management as a Qualified Person with all aspects of O Regulation 406/19 Excess Soils Compliance, including Liquid Soil Management and digital software tracking. As a trusted partner this position plays a pivotal role in implementing and managing compliance with appliable law and environmental performance through collaboration and expertise as a Soils Qualified Person.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements and supports the verification and education with the Excess Soil Rules as per O.Reg 406/19 as amended
- Spearhead standardized Systems as it relates to Soil Management offsite and the management of Liquid Soils from cradle to final disposal/reuse compliance with the Excess Soil Regulation and the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA)
- Lead the development of Standard Operating Principles for the Business Unit for issuance on Ledcor’s Core Management System (CMS) that outlines. This encompasses various aspects such as the HS&E Management System, environmental regulatory matrices, environmental management processes and plan templates for operating groups
- Guide and support operating groups in developing environmental processes, facilitating training sessions, conducting environmental aspects assessments, set up and compliance with the RPRA Tracking Requirements and management of and verification of applicable disposal/beneficial reuse sites and include compliance tracking on the Projects and on behalf of the Client
- Prepare bid proposal submissions, and other continual improvement opportunities
- Develops applicable soil reports and review of Reports provided by Others, including the direction and oversight of soil sampling when applicable
- Supports the direction and sign off on soil documentation, including compliance and verification of the MECP RPRA for all tracking and digital record keepings as per the Regulation
- Shares knowledge on Environmental Management Systems, learning programs, competency programs, and performance metrics across the organization
- Mentors and provides support for the professional development of HS&E employees within Ledcor
- Collaborating during audits and inspections to verify the effective implementation of Ledcor’s HS&E Management system across operating groups
- Defining, developing, implementing and optimizing Environmental Management processes to align with Ledcor’s business drivers and overarching strategy for enhancing environmental performance
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in the development/delivery/management of an environmental management system
- 3 years’ experience in diversified industries
- Possesses extensive technical knowledge of Environmental Management systems, compliance practices, and regulations related to air quality, waste management, spill response, remediation and other requirements across various jurisdictions in Canada and the US
- Possesses practical experience in both implementing and auditing management systems to ensure compliance and effectiveness
- Excels at developing and enhancing environmental processes encompassing programs, process flows, plans, and templates with a focus on continuous improvement
- Capable of collaborating effectively with operating groups and shared services to support Ledcor’s. diverse operations
- Able to interpret internal and external business challenges and recommend appropriate solutions to address complex environmental issues
- Skilled in designing, developing, and delivering impactful training sessions and compelling presentations to diverse audiences
- Demonstrates advanced communication skills, prioritizing results and fostering a culture of continuous improvement while helping others solve complex problems
- Capable of working independently and able to collaborate with other teams effectively
- Completed post-secondary education in Environmental Engineering, P. Eng under O Reg 4016/19 is considered an asset
- Environmental Professional Designation (EP), or other related Environmental designation (R.P.Bio., etc.,) is considered an asset
Work Conditions:
- Travel to various sites is required
- This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions
Compensation
$92,400.00 - $127,050.00
This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
