Role description:
Arcadis is looking for an Environmental Scientist 2 to join its Charlotte, North Carolina Industrial Hygiene (IH) team. This position involves budget tracking, technical report writing and/or reviews, staff coordination and planning, and client interactions. The successful candidate will support a wide range of industrial hygiene projects throughout the southeastern United States, particularly those involving asbestos and hazardous building materials, indoor air quality and mold investigations, and IH exposure monitoring.
Duties include preparing project reports, reviewing documentation with stakeholders, and Arcadis and subcontractor staff coordination.
This role offers collaboration on diverse projects, opportunities for professional growth, and requires a valid driver’s license.
Role accountabilities:
- Work with project teams and subcontractors to gather the information needed to prepare technical reports.
- Review field documentation for industrial hygiene and air quality inspections, assess the accuracy and completeness of submittals, verify findings, and develop recommendations with guidance from technical leadership.
- Analyze laboratory data and reports.
- Prepare technical memos, summary reports, and other deliverables for clients.
- Strong problem-solving and project management abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in science
- 3+ years in consulting or professional services preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulations related to asbestos and mold
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
- RCRA/DOT Hazardous Waste Shipping Training

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $64,800- $97,200. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
