- Lead Safety Strategy Meeting
- Maintain Vehicle Level Safety Targets/Status
- Local Safety Health Chart
- USNCAP Targets/Status
- IIHS Targets/Status
- Competitive Benchmarking for performance, design and efficiency
- Signoff Planning
- Generate and own signoff plan / CDP
- Identification of crash families, worst case variants etc
- Drive efficient vehicle, sled and CAE signoff plan
- Secure safety cross functional team alignment
- Identify risks and opportunities and risk management strategies
- Own & track vehicle, sled, and component test plans mapped to program timing
- Define vehicle count and rehit strategy
- Support prototype planning workstream
- Track test issues to closure
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC or Novi, Michigan.
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Education/Certifications: A Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
- Years of Experience: 8-10 years of experience in developing and integrating vehicle safety systems, body structures and occupant protection systems covering all phases of development (design, testing, launch).
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety principles, regulations, and standards
- Strong technical skills and expertise in Vehicle Safety employing a 1st Principles approach to problem-solving
- Familiarity with computer aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field
- Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organization levels

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $130,000.00 - $160,000.00
