DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Strategic Buyer – Battery Machinery & Tooling Installation (CAPEX) to strategically manage the procurement of machinery and tool installation services. This critical role will play a key part in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality equipment and services, directly impacting our operational efficiency and bottom line. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills, a proven track record of cost savings, and a passion for optimizing procurement processes.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Sourcing & CAPEX Management: Develop category strategies for machinery and tooling. Lead the "Total Cost of Ownership" (TCO) analysis to ensure long-term value beyond the initial purchase price. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives. Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in the field of machinery and tool installation
Contractual Engineering: Draft and negotiate complex Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOW). Focus on penalty clauses for delays, warranty terms, and Performance Bonds.
Stakeholder Orchestration: Act as the bridge between Engineering (technical specs), Finance (budget control), and Legal (risk mitigation).
Project Procurement: Manage the procurement timeline to align with factory "shut-downs" or installation windows, ensuring zero impact on production continuity.
Supplier Performance & Risk: Audit and qualify specialized contractors, ensuring they meet rigorous safety (EHS) and quality standards.
Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable pricing, terms, and conditions while mitigating risk. This includes drafting and reviewing contracts, managing service level agreements (SLAs), and resolving disputes.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial) or Business with a strong technical background.
- Experience: 3-5 years in CAPEX Procurement or Indirect Purchasing (specifically machinery, automation, or heavy equipment). Experience working with international suppliers.
- Hard Skills: Advanced negotiation (Harvard Methodology preferred), deep understanding of Incoterms 2020, and experience with ERPs (SAP/Oracle).
Soft Skills: High influence capacity, resilience, and project management mindset.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proven track record of successful cost reduction and negotiation, ideally with quantifiable results.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Language: Full professional proficiency in English (written and oral).
