Summary
This position is part of the Office of Science - ORNL Site Office, Department of Energy. As a Supervisory General Engineer/Physical Scientist, you will be responsible for administration and management of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) contracts; direct teams involved in contract oversight by developing expectations for the contractor, evaluating work to be performed, and evaluating the contractor's final performance.
Major Duties
As a Supervisory General Engineer/Physical Scientist, you will: Exercise technical knowledge and resources to identify and understand Environment, Safety, and Health (ES&H) risks and liabilities, to identify and direct appropriate controls, and to maintain awareness and inform risk acceptance authorities regarding such matters. Oversee implementation of operational systems and processes in support of major technical projects and programs with resources of multi-million dollars. Use subordinate position to direct, coordinate, and oversee work performed by the Division. Advise on technical matters across a broad array of technical subject areas, provides sound engineering input and analyses when required, addresses complex problems unique to the circumstance requiring technical insights and contextual adjustment.
