Job Description Summary
The Lead Field Engineer will provide technical leadership and front-line supervision for the successful execution of complex projects and activities involving BWR and PWR reactor maintenance and inspection. They will have technical expertise and experience in BWR and PWR reactor disassembly, reassembly, refueling and all forms of in-vessel servicing for PWRs and BWRs.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.). This is a remote role, but relocation to Wilmington, NC is available.
Job Description
As the PWR Lead Field Engineer-MCO you will:
Perform fuel move activities at PWR and BWR customer sites
Hold a position on the GVH Fuel Movement Council and act as Subject Matter Expert for internal MCO-Fuel Movement Training
Lead field project delivery including technical direction, work coordination, and supervision of mixed teams (GE employees, contractors, and craft labor) at customer sites
Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and suppliers on commercial, technical, and compliance matters
Work collaboratively within integrated services teams
Support PWR product line operations as primary responsibility
Provide BWR product line support as needed
Interface with Customer Service, Commercial Operations, Planning & Staffing, and Training departments
Provide expertise on tooling and equipment requirements
Meet internal and external customer expectations and requirements
Gather first-hand customer feedback to drive product and service improvements
Maintain strict adherence to integrity, safety, and quality metrics and processes
Support Product Line Leaders as required
During non-outage periods, serve in training leadership roles at the San Jose Training Facility as needed

Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability and willingness to climb and descend 10 flights of stairs twice per day
Ability and willingness to pass respirator fit test and physical
Ability and willingness to pass Fitness For Duty requirements and site security requirements to obtain unescorted access
Ability and willingness to work under high stress conditions
Ability and willingness to work in radiation-controlled areas and radioactively contaminated areas
Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% domestically and internationally plant sites
Ability and willingness to work 12 hours / day seven days per week (when delivering of field projects)
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline, preferably Marine, Mechanical, or Industrial from an accredited college or university
Knowledge of nuclear power plant refueling activities
Knowledge of BWR and PWR Vessels and Components, Nuclear Steam Safety System (NSSS), Reactor Containment Building
Excellent computer skills; ability to use MS Office, MS Project,
Well organized and self-directed worker
Experience as a first line supervisor or above during outage execution
Prior experience with B&W designed reactors is a plus
