Job Summary
Green Zone Recycling is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to lead daily route planning and dispatch operations while driving strategic improvements in fleet utilization, service quality, and cost control. In this role, you'll monitor route execution, use data to spot trends, and partner with drivers and cross-functional teams to solve problems and continuously improve how we operate. You'll also help maintain compliance and safety standards, manage vendor/partner relationships, and support reporting and process improvements. Additionally, you'll provide high-level administrative support to the COO, including calendar and meeting coordination, documentation, communications, and special project tracking.

Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and optimize daily transportation routes to improve efficiency, service levels, and sustainability outcomes.
- Build and maintain driver schedules; coordinate coverage, time-off, and route adjustments.
- Monitor fleet performance and route execution; troubleshoot day-of operational issues and implement corrective actions.
- Communicate route plans and real-time updates with drivers; respond quickly to questions and help remove day-to-day roadblocks.
- Analyze route and operational data to identify trends, propose improvements, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records (routes, mileage, service notes, incidents) and prepare routine performance reports.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align routing, customer needs, and operational capacity.
- Identify opportunities to maximize fleet utilization, reduce costs responsibly, and improve service quality; share recommendations and help implement changes that stick.
- Compliance & Safety: Help ensure vehicles and operations meet safety standards and regulatory requirements; reinforce a safety-first culture through clear communication and follow-through.
- Vendor & Partner Management: Coordinate with dealerships, repair vendors, and insurance partners to keep vehicles supported and downtime minimal; communicate needs clearly, track follow-ups, and help ensure cost-effective service.
- Use simple dashboards and key metrics to monitor performance, highlight trends, and share updates with the team.
- Administrative Support to the COO: Maintain organized electronic files and documentation; coordinate calendar/meetings and communications; assist with compiling KPIs/dashboards and periodic leadership updates; coordinate travel/expenses as needed; and support special projects by coordinating stakeholders and tracking milestones.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Experience in routes/dispatch, logistics, transportation operations, or related coordination work-however, we welcome transferable experience in scheduling, customer service, or operations support.
- Preferred (not required): Familiarity with fleet, recycling, waste, or field-service operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment; able to stay calm, prioritize, and communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable partnering with drivers, operations staff, vendors, and leadership.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through; able to manage multiple priorities without losing the thread.
- Analytical mindset-able to interpret route and performance data and turn insights into practical improvements.
- Comfortable with common office tools (email, spreadsheets, documents) and willing to learn routing/fleet systems; training and support will be provided as needed.
- Professional discretion and sound judgment when supporting the COO and handling sensitive information.
