Summary
The typical season for this position is May through September but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. The anticipated entry on duty is May 2026. NOTE: OPM has identified this position as eligible for an exception to the typical 1039-hour season. This exception allows up to 1560 hours which may extend the season(s) reflected in this announcement. See the Additional Information section for details.
Major Duties
This position works under the building, utilities and grounds leader or another higher graded maintenance position. - Performs non-supervisory work primarily engaged in assisting in the maintenance, repair and construction of park buildings and facilities. Must be able to safely and effectively use hand and shop power tools required for the job and have the ability to maintain these tools properly. May be required to work on the remote coast or backcountry areas of the park for up to one week per month. Duties may require using a variety of trade practices such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, cement work, and painting.
