As an Environmental Graphic Design Intern at Pophouse, you will join our creative team to assist with both small and large-scale projects to gain professional experience, hands-on knowledge and mentorship. Whether assisting with conceptual designs, file preparations, or participating in design charrettes, you will work as a fully collaborative member of our design team. Pophouse is looking for someone who is eager to learn and self-motivated. We are looking for reliable and detail-oriented team members to aid throughout the entire design process and work alongside our designers and partners.
About the role
- Assist in the conceptualization of custom environmental designs such as wayfinding, wallcoverings, large format prints and 3D installations.
- Assist in the creation of digital designs such as 3D renderings/mock-ups to convey concepts to clients.
- Modify and refine designs to conform to client specifications, budget, and fabrication limitations, or changes in design.
- Participate in design critiques and charrettes with design team and senior leadership.
- Prepare files for production in coordination with designers and design leadership.
- Collaborate with designers and leaders in brainstorm sessions, design briefs, and team projects.
About you
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in graphic design, industrial design, or related field from an accredited college or university
- Completion of your third year of an undergraduate program or first year of graduate program
- Submission of an online portfolio that demonstrates design process and innovative design solutions (website or PDF format, 4-6 work samples)
- Strong sense of concept development, layout, and current graphic design trends
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dimension)
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- 3D Computer rendering skills a plus (SketchUp, and/or other modeling software)
- Graphic presentation and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas
