Job Title: Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Intern
Reports to: Plant Manager
Job Summary
The Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Intern plays a vital role in supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs that ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Essential Duties
- Build, rollout, and provide ongoing support for forms and inspections within the EHS Insight software
- Develop ‘How-to’ resources, including instructional videos and written guides to assist end-users and site leaders
- Generate internal EHS communications and newsletters to keep the team informed on safety initiatives
- Collaborate with safety committee members to ensure monthly tasks are track and completed on time
- Create helpful tools and resources to support the daily functions of safety coordinator roles
- Perform data mining to track incident, associate costs, correction and prevention actions
- Generate regular reports to visual trends
- Assist with misc. safety projects and tasks as they arise to support overall safety culture
Required Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Eagerness to develop analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to follow company policies and understand any rules or regulations governing the work being completed
Education and Experience
- Currently enrolled at an accredited institution, working towards a Bachelor’s degree with a safety focus
Physical Requirements
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking
- Occasional lifting, carrying, stooping, crouching, crawling, and bending
- Be able to handle, grasp, and perform repetitive motions
- Requires the ability to see, hear, touch, and smell
- Working in a manufacturing environment.
