DescriptionThe WSP is currently seeking to recruit Associate Consultant- ESG, Climate Change and Carbon Advisory team to work with our Middle East Earth and Environment Advisory Services team. The successful applicant will operate within a team of environmental and sustainability professionals in Bangalore/Noida/Mumbai delivering the highest standards of technical work and aiding the continued success of the team by being an integral part of our client focused delivery of projects. The Associate Consultant – ESG, Climate Change & Carbon will support the delivery of sustainability, climate action, and decarbonization projects for clients across sectors. The role involves conducting ESG assessments, GHG accounting, climate risk analysis, data modelling, benchmarking, report writing, and supporting strategy formulation aligned with global standards such as GRI, CDP, TCFD, SBTi and BRSR.
The ideal candidate should have foundational knowledge of sustainability frameworks, strong analytical capability, and passion for climate action, corporate ESG transformation, and low‑carbon solutions.
You will be joining a well-respected, large and dynamic team with a wide range of clients across different markets and sectors including national and local government, industrial, commercial and scientific sectors.
ResponsibilitiesSuccessful candidate must have:
• Support ESG maturity assessments, gap analysis, peer benchmarking, and materiality assessments.
• Assist in developing ESG strategies, roadmaps, and performance improvement plans.
• Contribute to ESG reporting aligned with frameworks such as GRI, BRSR, SASB, ISSB etc.
• Research emerging ESG regulations, sector trends and investor expectations.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently to deliver ESG, climate change and carbon reduction consulting services to clients
• Conduct carbon footprint assessments and develop carbon reduction strategies for clients
• Provide expertise and guidance on sustainability best practices, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, and waste reduction
• Develop and implement sustainable business solutions and assist clients in achieving their sustainability goals
• Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and best practices in ESG, climate change and carbon reduction
• Contribute to technical proposals and build relationships with potential clients
• Manage and track engagement budgets and invoicing
• Lead and manage client meetings, presentations, deliverables, report submissions
QualificationsRequirements:
• Bachelor of Engineering in relevant discipline (Architecture, Mechanical/Electrical/Environmental Science or other relevant discipline).
• Working knowledge of ESG frameworks: GRI, BRSR, SASB, ISSB, UN SDGs.
• Understanding of climate science, GHG Protocol, SBTi, and Net Zero methodologies.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or data tools.
• Master’s degree and international work exposure is a plus (Middle East experience preferred).
• 15+ years of professional experience.
• Ability to work across multiple disciplines and a flexible mindset to working.
• Excellent written English and verbal communication, presentation and organisational skills.
• Experience of working on multiple projects, simultaneously.
• Collaborative mindset and outcome driven working method.
