Manager – Civil (Solar Projects)

Job Purpose:
To lead and manage all civil construction activities for large-scale solar power projects, ensuring timely execution, quality delivery, cost control, and strict adherence to safety and compliance standards, with an IPP-focused execution mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution & Leadership
Lead end-to-end civil execution for utility-scale solar projects including piling, MMS foundations, inverter stations, control rooms, roads, drains, and module cleaning infrastructure.
Manage multiple solar project sites across Gujarat as applicable.
Drive execution planning, sequencing, and timely completion of civil milestones.
Design & Engineering Coordination
Review and approve civil design drawings, foundation designs, BOQs, and technical specifications.
Coordinate with engineering teams, consultants, and OEMs for optimizing designs based on site conditions.
Ensure constructability and cost-effective solutions aligned with IPP standards.
Contractor & Vendor Management
Select, onboard, and manage civil contractors and subcontractors.
Monitor contractor productivity, safety, quality, and adherence to timelines.
Review and certify RA bills, manage variations, and handle claims effectively.
Cost, Quality & Safety
Control civil project costs against approved budgets; proactively highlight risks.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, approved drawings, and SOPs.
Enforce HSE practices in line with statutory and company requirements.
Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate with internal teams – Projects, SCM, Engineering, Quality, HSE, and Finance.
Liaise with local authorities, land teams, and statutory bodies at site.
Support audits, inspections, and management reviews.
Reporting & Governance
Prepare and present progress reports, MIS, risk registers, and recovery plans.
Ensure adherence to internal governance, approval matrices, and documentation standards.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong expertise in solar project civil works (piling, RCC, roads, drains, foundations).
Experience in large-scale IPP solar projects.
Strong understanding of geotechnical investigations and soil-based foundation solutions.
Commercial acumen in contracts, billing, and cost control.
Strong leadership, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
Mandatory Requirements:
BTech / BE in Civil Engineering.
13–18 years of experience in utility-scale solar projects.
Prior experience with IPP companies is mandatory.
Stable career profile (long tenures preferred; frequent job changes discouraged).
Willingness to be based in Gujarat and travel across project sites.
