Location: Bronx ZooDepartment: Admissions & ParkingTitle: SupervisorEmployment Type: TemporaryStatus: Non-ExemptGrade Level: HourlyPay Rate: $20 per hourReports To: Unit Manager, Assistant Manager and/or ManagerPosition Summary:Supervise the daily operations of an assigned temporary location to provide high quality products and superior customer service that enhances the visitor experience, maximizes revenue, and supports the mission of the Wildlife Conservation Society.RESPONSIBILITIES:Sales & Service- Supervise the daily operation of the area to achieve budgeted sales
- Ensure that all Associates provide superior customer service
- Reinforce selling skills training of team by focusing on the individual so as to increase premium ticket sales
Human Resources- Be responsive to needs of Associates, including training & development needs
- Follow and enforce WCS and departmental rules and regulations
- Address and correct staff behaviors
- Provide a healthy and safe work environment
Operations - Presentation & Housekeeping- Ensure that parking, entry, membership and attraction areas are properly set, operated and maintained for efficient and effective visitor experience
- Ensure that all work locations are neat, clean, organized and safe
Product Management & Protection of Assets- Monitor and control cash to ensure that Society funds are being handled in an accurate and secure manner that conforms to WCS policies and procedures
- Maintain point-of-sale system use to ensure that visitor access is being properly inputted, monitored, scanned, and recorded.
Campus Partner- Maintain general knowledge of park, attractions, and amenities so as to provide superior customer service
Perform other related duties as assigned Internal Qualification RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum age of 18 or older
• High school diploma or its equivalent (GED) preferred
• Previous experience as an Admissions Sales Associate at WCS or related venue preferred
• Must have a positive work ethic, and possess well-developed leadership abilities
• Outgoing personality with strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills, including time management and problem solving
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours
