Job Summary:
The Solar Project Engineer is responsible for the technical design, planning, and execution of solar energy projects from concept to completion. This role involves coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop solar PV systems, including site layout, electrical design, and system sizing.
- Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and energy yield analyses.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for tender and construction.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation.
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and local authorities for permits and approvals.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of solar systems.
- Perform quality assurance and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Troubleshoot technical issues during and after project implementation.
- Prepare progress reports and provide technical support to project managers.
- Stay updated with emerging solar technologies, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related Engineering field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in solar PV design, construction, or project management.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV components, inverters, mounting structures, and electrical systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and MS Project (or equivalent software).
- Familiar with local and international solar standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, SEDA, or TNB guidelines).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
