The CFO / Controller is a key member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the President, and will play a critical role in shaping the long range operational and strategic plans of the company. The CFO Controller is responsible for the full scope of financial management, financial systems creation, and accounting operations of Solar Works Energy. Reviewing existing accounting and financial controls; developing and implementing new processes and systems; monitoring and reporting financial performance metrics; and managing the overall operations of the corporate office (including staff supervision). This is a part -time role based in Albuquerque, NM.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

â Performs all accounting operations including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory accounting and payroll<\/span>
<\/p>

â Develops, improves and issues monthly, quarterly and project -based financial statements<\/span>
<\/p>

â Establishes, monitors and enforces financial policies and procedures to inform corporate financial decisions<\/span>
<\/p>

â Manages major contracts with vendors and suppliers<\/span>
<\/p>

â Ensures company is in full financial and operational compliance with CRA, GST, WorkSafeBC, etc. regulations<\/span>
<\/p>

â Manages HR, IT, and insurance functions where volume doesn’t dictate separate positions<\/span>
<\/p>

Requirements<\/h3>

â CPA / CMA with 3+ years experience<\/span>
<\/p>

â Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is an asset<\/span>
<\/p>

<\/div>

Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures<\/span>
<\/p>

Experience creating financial statements<\/span>
<\/p>

Experience with general ledger functions and month -end/year -end reporting<\/span>
<\/p>

Excellent skills using accounting software (Simply Accounting/Sage), Google, and Microsoft Office products<\/span>
<\/p>

Strong administrative skills<\/span>
<\/p>

Supervisory experience an asset<\/span>
<\/p>

Knowledge of construction contract terminology and legislation would be considered an asset<\/span>
<\/p>
