Our client is looking for a Solar Energy Specialist to join their team in São Tomé e Principe. The individual will focus on developing solar energy strategic plans. The professional main responsibilities will be operational frameworks, processes, KPIs and practices of Solar Sector development at national regional or local scale.
• S/He will have an accredited University Graduate Degree (preferably master’s level or equivalent) in one or more relevant fields (e.g., Electrical, Solar and/or Renewable Energies Engineering, etc.).
• S/He will have at least ten (10) years of experience and he/she must be involved in the design and implementation of at least three (3) projects of solar power plants of more than 10 MWp minimum including Feasibility Studies, Preliminary Designs, and the preparation of the Call File Offers. At least one of the projects should have a value of at least US S 1.000,000 and one should ideally be located in Africa or in similar conditions.
• S/He will have la significant experience working in similar business environments, including sub-Saharan Africa and Lusophone countries. Previous work experience in São Tomé and Principe in similar assignments would be an advantage (e.g., Developing solar energy strategic plans, operational frameworks, processes, KPIs and practices of Solar Sector development at national regional or local scale). Familiarity with government and multilateral funded operations is mandatory. The proposed candidate shall have demonstrated relevant experience in promoting stakeholder engagement (senior staff, government decision makers), integrating reports from different specialists, providing quality control, and effectively managing cross-sector professional teams.
• S/He must have excellent research and communication skills in both written and verbal English and Portuguese, and strong interpersonal skills.
