The Subject Matter Expert (SME) is to make use of any and all available resources, methods, techniques and strategies to ensure curriculum enables student success in an engaged, face to face environment. The Subject Matter Expert is expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and product strategists to create a learning atmosphere which is pedagogically sound, technically supported, and innovative in nature.
SAIT's Continuing Education & Professional Development department is looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide guidance on courses relating to the Economics of Carbon for our new Carbon Capture Management Program! This course area will provide an introductory-level, yet comprehensive overview of carbon management practices, including carbon footprint assessment, emission sources and mitigation strategies. Our ideal candidate will have a background in carbon market economics, emissions trading and financial assessments of carbon management strategies. They will have expertise in carbon footprint assessment, cost-benefit analysis, and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications
Required:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized post secondary institution in Business or Education - a Master’s Degree from a recognized post secondary institution is preferredMinimum 2 years of relevant industry experienceExpertise in carbon market economics, emissions trading and financial assessments, specifically for carbon management strategiesExpertise in carbon footprint assessment, cost-benefit analysis and mitigation strategiesAdditional designations (i.e. Chartered Professional Accountant) is preferredEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be consideredFluent in English reading and vocabularyComfortable speaking to the publicPositive & respectful attitudeAbility to read, interpret and deliver specific curriculumExcellent communication skillsAbility to organize and present written information
