Under the direction of a Senior Transportation Planner (Chief, Rolling Stock Procurement Branch), the Associate Transportation Planner is responsible for performing a variety of journeyman-level duties with minimal supervision in support of the Office of Assets and Equipments rolling stock procurement, contracting, and project delivery functions.
The Rolling Stock Procurement Branch in the Division of Rails Office of Assets and Equipment is responsible for procuring new passenger locomotives, railcars, and multiple unit vehicles for the three State-supported intercity passenger rail services and emerging corridor services. The branch is also responsible for maintaining an architecture and engineering on-call contract for engineering support for the Division of Rail.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Associate Transportation Planner/ Transportation Planner exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
